Florida Cooling Store Inc. (“FL Cooling,” “we,” “us,” “our”) operates the FL Cooling mobile application and the website at flcooling.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over your data.

Information We Collect

When you create an account or use our app, we collect:

  • Account information: email address, password (encrypted), name, and phone number
  • Service address: the location where you want HVAC service performed
  • Service requests and quote requests: details you provide about your HVAC system and needs
  • Photos: images you choose to upload of your equipment, system, or service issues
  • Device tokens: a unique identifier from your device used to send push notifications
  • Usage data: basic information about how you interact with the app (for crash reporting and bug fixes)

We do not collect your precise location, your contacts, your microphone audio, or any health data. We do not access your photo library without your explicit permission, and only photos you choose to upload are received by us.

How We Use Your Information

  • Provide HVAC service and respond to your service and quote requests
  • Dispatch technicians to your service address
  • Send you SMS, email, or push notifications about your service status
  • Process and respond to quote requests
  • Improve our service, fix bugs, and respond to support issues
  • Maintain records required for warranty, licensing, and business operations

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with third parties for advertising. We do not use your data to build profiles for any purpose other than serving you as our customer.

Service Providers

To run the app, we use trusted third-party services that may process your data on our behalf:

  • Google Firebase: account authentication, database, push notifications, and crash reporting
  • Twilio: SMS message delivery
  • Apple App Store and Google Play: distribution of the app itself

These providers are bound by their own privacy practices and contracts with us. They process your data only to provide the services we use them for.

How Long We Keep Your Data

  • Active accounts: we keep your data while your account is active
  • Deleted accounts: when you delete your account, your login is removed immediately. Your service data is retained in a soft-deleted state for 30 days, then permanently purged. This grace period allows account recovery if deletion was a mistake
  • Service records: records of completed work, warranties, and invoices are retained for up to seven years for tax, warranty, and licensing requirements

Your Rights and Choices

You can:

  • Access your data: view your account information in the app, or contact us for a copy
  • Update your information: edit your profile, address, and contact details in the app
  • Delete your account: tap “Delete Account” in the More tab of the app. You will be signed out immediately, your login removed, and your data purged after 30 days
  • Opt out of notifications: turn off SMS or push notifications in the app settings, or unsubscribe from texts by replying STOP
  • Contact us: email info@flcooling.com with any privacy question or request

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we have collected about you, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of any sale (we do not sell your data). Security

We use industry-standard security practices to protect your data. Passwords are encrypted, our connections use HTTPS, and account data is stored on secured Google Cloud infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you entrust to us.

Children

The FL Cooling app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by updating the “Last updated” date at the top. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
